BleedingYew Tree
As my Moon Blood flows in these final hours of the Dark Moon before the New Moon births at 03:38 GMT tomorrow morning, I am remembering my Moon from last month.
It came 3 days early on the first day of my pilgrimage to Western Wales with my Rose Sister Priestess Achintya Devi to the house of my beloved Assistant on my Rose Priestess of Sophia-Magdalene Training and Dragon Queen of Wales, Pamela Gaunt.
At dusk on the final day of our pilgrimage, Pamela and Mara Freeman, author of the amazing book ‘Grail Alchemy’, guided us to a church with a grove of ancient ‘Bleeding Yew Trees’.
The Yew is the Druidic Tree of Death and Resurrection, highly poisonous but capable of growing new trunks from its branches rooting in the earth.
Many churches in the British Isles have Yew Trees in their grounds, which often predate the church itself, having been previously planted by the Druids in their sacred groves. The oldest Yew Tree is thought to be 9,000 years.
On that night exactly 3 weeks ago, I prayed in awe with Grandmother Yew, watching as Her red blood flowed out of the Yonic gash in Her body.
It was one of the most sacred moments of my life as I dipped my fingers into my own bleeding Yoni and mixed my Moon blood with Hers, before smearing my face with it!
As Pamela later described in fits of giggles, I emerged from the darkness of the graveyard like a “banshee woman with wild hair and a face covered in Yew and Moon blood!”
In those precious moments of bleeding together with Grandmother Yew, I have never felt so completely at one with Mother Earth.
So deeply held in my pain, my loss, my letting go, my “bleeding”.
At this time of the Dark Moon, of Samhain, of death and loss, call to Grandmother Yew to hold you as you release all your pain and grief, your fear and rage.
Watch Her bleeding in this film and know that She is bleeding for you. She is bleeding for all of us.
Blessed be to the blood
