I am beyond proud to share that Disney have chosen my son Zac as 1 of their 14 ‘Children of Kindness’ from across Europe and the Middle East as part of their Ultimate Princess Celebration – a new, global campaign championing the qualities of courage and kindness.

The campaign has just launched with ‘Tales of Courage and Kindness’, a new digital storybook collection, with 14 original Disney Princess stories, aimed at children to help inspire a kinder world.

Each of the 14 stories has been dedicated to a ‘Child of Kindness’, nominated by Disney’s charity partners, who helped them to identify young people who have displayed extraordinary courage or kindness.

Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSH) nominated Zac, who, despite being told he would never be able to speak due to his facial and oral paralysis, won a global speech competition run by the International Churchill Society, drawing on his own experiences of Moebius Syndrome to inspire other children to overcome challenges.

Zac chose to donate his $5000 prize money to GOSH, where he had a pioneering 10 hour operation to give his paralysed face a smile, and has since raised over £12,000 via his JustGiving page to support other children born with rare and complex medical conditions, and their families.

Disney chose to dedicate their new Pocahontas story to Zac because, like her, “Zac strives to make a difference to other people’s lives.”

“Zac demonstrates courage and kindness through his unwavering bravery and by being an inspirational role model for children and young people.”

You can read all about Disney’s Ultimate Princess Celebration and Zac’s story HERE.

Zac’s interviews with BBC Radio Somerset, Greatest Hits Radio, The Sun and the Somerset County Gazette will also be shared this week.

If you feel moved to honour Zac’s achievement, we would be so grateful for any donations, large or small, to his JustGiving page for GOSH Charity HERE.

Very proud Mama!
