This evening’s Full Moon in Aries whilst the Sun is passing through Libra, is occurring in the Constellation Andromeda.

Andromeda was one of the constellations listed by the Greco-Roman astronomer Ptolemy, but a female figure appeared in the same position much earlier in the Ancient Babylonian astronomy.

She was a fertility goddess sometimes named as Anunitum, or the Lady of the Heavens, who also appeared in the shape of a fish, the precursor of Pisces.

Andromeda was also associated with Tiamat, the Babylonian Serpent-Dragon Queen of Chaos, whose son Marduk killed her and used her body to create the constellation.

And in Greek mythology, Andromeda was known as the ‘Chained Lady’ after her father chained her to a rock, before being rescued by the hero Perseus with whom she had 9 children.

So we have the fiery energies of Aries combining with the watery energies of Andromeda embodied in the fertile fish and the powerful serpent-dragon of destruction-creation.

These mythological and archetypal energies are weaving perfectly with the astrological energies of this Full Moon Square Pluto (potentially destructive behaviour) and Trine Jupiter (transformation and rebirth).

This upcoming Full Moon two week portal is therefore an opportunity for us to unite the fire (male) and water (female) energies so that they amplify and temper each other positively.

Allow the passionate steam from their union to cleanse, heal and transform any potentially self-destructive patterns of behaviour (to “unchain” yourself) and then open to the opportunities that are flowing your way.

This Aries Full Moon encourages us all to RELATE and CO-CREATE, not just within our lover relationships, but in relationship with Source and in the manifestation of our Soul’s purpose through connection with others.
