On this Autumn Equinox 17 years ago beneath a Full Moon, I initiated as a Priestess of Avalon at the Well Head in Chalice Well with my beloved priestess-sisters, especially Elin, Emma-Rose, Rosamund and Sharlea, who have just spent this weekend with me on my Priestess of Sophia-Magdalene Training.

There is nothing more magical than sisterhood that reaches back through the mists of time and stretches forward in love, support and co-creation.

My vow is too long to share here in its entirety but these are the core vows I made that night 17 years ago…

I vow to always enter the silence and listen to you, and to bring the light of your wisdom back into the darkness of the world.

I vow to inspire, not undermine, to heal, not wound, those I meet upon my path, and to use my gift of storytelling to illuminate the wisdom of Sophia, thereby facilitating spiritual transformation.

I vow to remain aware of the ball of fire revolving in my belly, to let go of fear and to live my life by the passion of my soul.

I vow to leave myself open to transformation, to discriminate between right and wrong, and to approach you, myself and others with an open, loving and forgiving heart

I vow to speak my truth and to be true to myself.

I vow to spiritually nurture the children of this earth with the milk of your wisdom flowing through my storytelling.

I vow to remain rooted in my physical body, and to protect your body, the Earth.

I vow to welcome the Dark Mother as my guide through her cave of pain and fear, and to be reborn continually out of her tomb-womb with greater courage, self-knowledge, wisdom and love.

Blessed Mother, Lady of Avalon, Morgan La Fey, Keeper of the Mysteries, I ask for your blessing on me as your Priestess of Avalon and I vow to love and serve you on the Isle of Death, Transformation & Rebirth that is Avalon.

I could not have predicted that night the challenges that lay ahead on my path. But I came to understand that when I dedicated as a Priestess on this Holy Isle, I stepped through a gateway of initiation that would take me to the darkest depths precisely so that I could serve her from a place of authenticity, truth and embodied gnosis.
