Today is the Thursday of Mysteries, otherwise known as Maundy Thursday, which commemorates the Washing of the Feet and the Last Supper before Yeshua’s death, where he shared his final “mysteries” or teachings.

It is traditional to show love to one another through ritually washing each other’s feet, in the same way that Yeshua instructed his disciples:

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” John 13:34

And then we partake in the ritual of the Last Supper, which gave rise to the Holy Communion, but this is founded on a much more ancient ritual from Babylonia where bread cakes were made in the shape of the Rose Lineage Goddess Ishtar and eaten in her honour.

So we bake bread in the shape of the Divine Feminine and Masculine to honour them both.

Lastly, we strip our altars bare and lay a black cloth over them in preparation for our descent of the 7 Stations of the Cross (7 Gates of Inanna-Ishtar) with Yeshua and Magdalene on Good Friday.

The Blessing of the Oils ceremony also takes place on this day so you can bless and consecrate any oils that you would like to use in ceremony or for anointing in the coming year.

Click here to join us for The Glastonbury Rose Chapel’s Online Resurrection Rites to descend the 7 Gates on Good Friday and ascend them on Holy Saturday with the lighting of the Paschal Candle. By donation. Limited spaces.

I look forward to journeying with you in the Release and the Resurrection through this powerful Paschal portal of the Rose Lineage.
