Who are you when you dare to tear down the defences you have built around your heart and open yourself to deeply, authentically loving and allowing yourself to be loved? With all the inherent risks of loss, pain, rejection and abandonment? How do you feel when you dare to crack your heart wide open to love even in the face of the shadow behaviour of others?

Join us this evening (Tuesday 28 January) as we step through Venus-Inanna’s Fourth Gate of Ascent in my Rose Moon Membership, working with our Heart Chakra from The Glastonbury Gnostic Chapel in the Heart Chakra of Gaia, perfectly aligned with the energies of this Lunar Imbolc portal and its Rose-Celtic Goddess Brigit-Brighde-Bride.

As the Maiden Goddess of Healing and Children, and in Her relationship to both Magdalene and Mary here on the sacred Isle of Avalon, Brigit empowers us to heal wounding in our Maiden-Lover-Mother Selves which can prevent us from opening our hearts as widely as possible to loving and being loved.

I am blessed to have been taught this lesson by my disabled son Zac in the years when we lived with him on the bridge between life and death. I became conscious that I had built a wall around my heart to protect myself from feeling the pain of his loss in case he died, which manifested in me attempting to disengage emotionally from him as much as possible.

But when I allowed him to crack open my heart to deeply loving him through being completely present with him, even in the face of his potential loss, I came to understand that love is everything. We cannot control what will happen in the future, whether we will lose the person we love or not. But we can choose to open our hearts, take a risk and love in this moment, now.

Similarly when someone behaves towards us from a wounded, shadow place, we have a choice whether to react from a similar place, or whether to open our hearts and respond from a place of love whilst still maintaining strong boundaries.
