The Dragon Queen is rising! A patriarchal religious interpretation of St George’s Day commemorates the victory of patriarchal religion over Goddess Paganism, as symbolised in the ancient symbol of the Serpent-Dragon.
This was one of the concepts I explored in my MSc degree thesis way back in 1996-7, and teach today in the Ancient Mesopotamian workshop of my Rose Priestess of Sophia-Magdalene Training.
The myth of St George and the Dragon is founded on an ancient Babylonian myth which sees the Son-Sun God Marduk defeat his Mother Goddess Tiamat, embodied in the Dragon.
The destruction of the Dragon Mother and the dark, chaotic, untameable, chthonic energies of the Earth, the Black Goddess and the Rebellious, Wise Queen that she symbolises in cultural mythology, and therefore in the collective unconscious, initiated the violent rape of Mother Earth, the Feminine Divine and Woman through the rise of patriarchal society.
And now the Dragon Mother, the Black Goddess and the Rebellious, Wise Queen are all rising from their lair.
Can you feel Her stirring within you, unfurling Her coiled, serpentine body from deep within your womb, breathing Her fire of courage and conviction in your belly, lisping words of wisdom and revolution in your ear, crowning you as Queen with the Uraeus – the Serpent Crown of the ancient Queens of the Rose Lineage symbolising your sovereignty, royalty and authority?
Now is the time that every Dragon Queen needs to arise, unite and collaborate in the manifestation of a New Earth that once more respects the Earth, the Feminine Divine and Woman.
What will your contribution be as Queen?
Blessed be to the Dragon Mother and Queens!
