The Rainbowand theRobin
The Rainbow and the Robin on the Feast Day of Archangel Michael from the Isle of Iona.
I have spent my whole life in the UK living on the Michael-Mary ley lines.
In the 9 years from when I first started visiting Glastonbury until we moved here in 2009, I travelled up and down the Michael-Mary ley lines between Avalon and my sacred homeland in Buckinghamshire.
They created an energetic thread for me woven deep in the land whilst I lived with one foot in both worlds.
My journey with Mary and Sophia dominated those years as we lived literally on the Mary ley line and worshipped at her ancient Mermaid Spring, Gnostic Chapel and Beacon Hill, whilst I mothered my two daughters, one whom I named Sophia Mary.
Then, when we moved to Avalon, we lived close to Burrow Mump, which the Michael ley line runs through, and walked there every day for the last 4 months of my pregnancy with my disabled son Zac.
When we took my daughters to see Zac for the first time as he lay fighting for his life in NICU, we drove past Burrow Mump.
We were all in deep shock, grief and trauma, as Zac was born severely disabled and not expected to survive.
Suddenly, a rainbow appeared as if from nowhere, arching over Burrow Mump, and I heard the voice of Archangel Michael.
Then, as we approached the NICU in Taunton, another rainbow arched directly over the NICU, and I heard Michael again.
Zac was then transferred to St Michael’s NICU in Bristol, where we lived with him on St Michael’s Hill for 5 months.
Every day, a Robin would come to sit with me in the hospital garden. I came to understand that it was Archangel Michael, who has been our family’s guardian ever since.
Yesterday, I returned to the Isle of Iona for the first time since my honeymoon in 2009, when I was 8 weeks pregnant with Zac. It has been a deeply emotional visit, which I’ll share more about in a further post.
Suffice to say that I cried many tears into the ocean over what has come to pass since I was last here, and I was joined by a Robin.
Later, as we stepped out of our hotel to begin our pilgrimage up the peak of Dun-I to Brigit’s Well of Eternal Youth, we were met by a stunning rainbow over the sea between Iona and Mull.
Then, when we reached the summit of Dun-I, another rainbow miraculously appeared and I heard Archangel Michael’s voice once more.
Whenever we feel in pain, grief, sorrow and fear, if we open to receiving the signs of the presence of Angels, especially of the guardian protector Archangel Michael, it can bring such solace, comfort and healing.
We are never alone. Through all the trials and tribulations of life, the Archangels and Angels are always beside us.
Last night, I fell asleep curled up in Archangel Michael’s wings as he wiped away my tears. This morning, on his Feast Day, we honoured him in our prayers and songs at Iona Abbey.
With his love and blessings from Iona
